Ordination TrainingTraining for ministry as a deacon or a presbyter at Wesley House involves belonging to a partly resident Methodist community where faith seeks understanding. Independent students and those engaged in vocational exploration as well as families and friends are also a key part of the community. The whole community meets for holy communion, a meal and conversation about our calling each week during term time but ordination training also involves engagement in the broader worshipping life of the community, core formational courses, placement work, formal academic work, leading worship and being in a formational tutorial relationship. Training as a DeaconA Methodist deacon is both a member of a religious order and ordained into an order of ministry which is characterised by servant leadership.
