Leading Like a Methodist in Public Life will bring together an international panel of theologians and church practitioners working at the interface of church life and public life. From the perspectives of public theology and church ministry for social justice and peace our panel will explore what leadership in public life is called to and where the church can contribute to the common good for all through principled leadership.

The Revd Dr Inderjit Bhogal

The Revd Dr Inderjit Bhogal is founder and President of the City of Sanctuary network and movement. Also a former President of the Methodist Conference, and former Leader of Corrymeela Community.

 

The Revd Dr Susan Henry-Crowe

The Revd Dr Susan Henry-Crowe is the General Secretary of the General Board of Church & Society of The United Methodist Church. She has served as the social justice agency’s top executive since 2014 after 22 years at Emory University where she was Dean of the Chapel & Religious Life.

 

Professor Simangaliso Kumalo

Prof Simangaliso Kumalo is an Associate Professor Public Theology and History. He is the Director of the Centre For Constructive Theology. A fellow of Wesley House College, University of Cambridge. He is also the Co-founding Editor of the Critical Investigation on Humanitarian Aid in Africa (CIHA).

 

Rachel Lampard

Rachel Lampard, The Methodist Church of Great Britain (GB) has worked for many years to enable churches to engage with issues of social justice. She is currently on secondment to the Walking With Micah project, helping Methodists to explore what it means to be part of a justice-seeking Church today
