The Revd Michaela Youngson: Spirituality and the Art of Making
The President of the Methodist Conference is at Wesley House as part of her visit to the East Anglia District of the Methodist Church. She reflects on the connections between faith, the spiritual and human creativity through her own artwork.
Sarah Rodgers and Geraldine Allen: Music for Body, Mind and Soul
Discovering deeper connections in music for worship and spiritual reflection. This session will aim to help participants to gain a new experience of music for themselves and in the context of their church worship by hearing more, connecting more and understanding better how music can thread through liturgy. Active singing and musical demonstrations will be part of the session.
Geraldine is a professional clarinettist and Sarah is a professional composer and conductor. They worship at Swaffham Methodist Church.
Fr Dragos Herescu: “Windows on Heaven”: Icons, art or theology?
An Orthodox priest and Principal of the Institute for Orthodox Christian Studies in Cambridge, Fr Dragos reflects on the inseparabilty of theology, art and the life of faith in understanding and praying with icons in the Orthodox tradition.
The day concludes with worship in the College Chapel.
Refreshments are provided but lunch is not. Please bring your own lunch or there are shops and restaurants nearby.
Wesley House has no car park. Please use public transport, the park and ride scheme or other central car parks.
