Wesley to the World

Over the past one hundred years, students and staff of Wesley House have generated theological scholarship and cultivated relationships that have impacted the thought and practice of the church worldwide. In this symposium we gather global Methodist scholars and practitioners to explore the foundations of our collaboration in God’s work in the world—a theological legacy. We also identify the contemporary challenges of the day to which we need to speak and into which we need to live around the world—a contemporary calling.

1-2 July 2022
Centenary Symposium & Open House

Wesley House is hosting a symposium on how churches and other institutions wrestle
with the legacy of slavery and colonialism. How might we shape communal memory in
order to take responsibility for the past while pursuing a more just future?
The program will include a keynote address, presentations on Methodism and the fight for justice, and a chance for group reflection on the challenges we face. The program will be held in person, and participants are invited to join us for an Open House on the second day.
