An international theological journal, critically reflecting upon Christian faith and life in the contemporary world

Purpose and ethos

HOLINESS is an open access online journal carrying peer-reviewed articles:

  • inviting ecumenical dialogue on what holy living means in the contemporary world
  • encouraging scholarly debate on questions of importance to those of Methodist/Wesleyan tradition around the world
  • providing a forum for cross-cultural and creative theological engagement with the Wesleyan corpus in worship and study

Open access

The principle of open access for readers across the world is key. No subscription fee is payable, but we welcome approaches to sponsor the costs of the journal so that we can continue to publish it free of charge to the reader.

Building a dialogue

Each edition has a focusing theme, and contributions which explore that theme are particularly invited. But the Editorial Board will be guided by the suggestions and interests of potential contributors in planning future themes.

Wesley House wants to offer a platform for publication both for distinguished scholars in this tradition and for younger academics who are still building their reputation, as well as for practitioners who want to reflect theologically at an advanced level on their ministry or professional practice.

We welcome proposals for previously unpublished contributions from authors of any background and context, who can address the purposes of HOLINESS and engage with a readership that is competent to operate at MA level. See Guidance to contributors.
