Through our partnership with the Methodist Ecumenical Centre in Rome Wesley House students can apply for short, specialist study courses based at the Centre, exploring Methodism in an ecumenical context, and mission and ministry encounters in a multi-cultural setting facing issues of migration and unemployment.
The Office is based at Ponte Sant`Angelo just across from St. Peter`s and offers basic accommodation with access to a major specialist library on ecumenism and church history.
The Methodist Liaison Office in Jerusalem is run jointly by the World Methodist Council, the Methodist Church of Britain and the General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church. In partnership with Wesley House, a programme of short immersion placements has been developed, based in Jerusalem. Placements are normally for periods of two to four weeks. Such placements offer an opportunity to engage with the political realities affecting Palestinians and Israelis, including volunteering in local projects and contextual theological reflection, and to encounter the Palestinian Christian commmunity. The Office can also facilitate responsible visits to pilgrimage sites. Students may apply for funding for longer placements.
