Power, Politics and the Passion
Starting 17th September 2018 for 6 weeks

This course draws on materials from three leading international theologians:

Revd Dr Sam Wells (Vicar of St Martin-in-the-Fields)

Dr Elaine Storkey (academic and social justice advocate)

Prof Simangaliso Kumalo (President of Seth Mokitimi Methodist Seminary in South Africa).

 

During the course we will cover the following topics:

  • The political dimensions of the passion narrative
  • Power and politics in Mark’s Gospel and the implications for our own discipleship
  • The resurrection and a new model of power
  • Politics and the Church
  • The role of Christian education in the transformation of society

The course will require approximately 4 hours study per week.
